Just been putting some of the fish back into the new pond - even though its not fully finished yet. So far found two that have whitespot Any ideas how I can rid them of it?? the pond is unheated so the water will be cold.

Have put some Virasure in - will that work?

Hi Susie.

Rule No1 is to scrape & diagnose really.
My koi get white spots when Flukes get the upper hand.
It could just be Carp Pox also (not dangerous & should dissapear when the warmer weather arrives).
Any1 local who could scrape the koi for you ?
Good luck.

Mick

We have a microscope so can do a scrape ourselves. the affected fish look like they have been sprinkled in salt rather than blisters thats why I think Whitespot. Gonna catch one and do a scrape just to be on the safe side.

Thanks for your help.

Well have done a scrape and yes its whitespot. The awful thing is the scrape was done AFTER putting pp into the pond.  Can I only dose once per week?
