| I have just installed a Tornado protein skimmer (2 days ago) and haven't seen any foam come out of the outlet yet, although previously in the evenings had DOC on the pond. No DOC now though!!! It is being fed by a sequence 10000 (water drawn in through a skimmer) that pumps the water through a HydroClean then back through the protein skimmer into the pond. How do I know if it is working?

| HI Sarah, doc is dissolved organic carbon, basically it is foam that floats on top of the water and if it builds up can discolour the water. My pond is now 2.5 years old and is 2568 gallons being 5ft 6in at one end and 2ft 8in at other. I have just changed my whole filtration system. I did have a 4 bay cloverleaf genesis, but now have a 4ft vortex and an Aquadyne 2.2B. The water has never been so clear, free of minute floating debris. What about your pond? Mark

| HI, I got it from All about koi (www.allaboutkoi.co.uk) I shopped around on the internet and the cheapest price was £245 inc delivery. Speak to Marc at Koi Island he might be able to get hold of one and do a special deal. Foam is building up in the skimmer, but not coming out of overflow. I am going install airstones in the bottom to try and generate more foam etc. The TMS Skim 300 (protein skimmer) is fantastic, has my friend as got one (linked to a ozoniser) But it should be it costs over £1000. The TMC has loads of airstones in the bottom so I am going to try and copy this.
