Hi Paul

welcome to the forums.

I cant help you with the filter questions but the pond size sounds good.

any particular reason for only going 4ft deep?

if I was to build a new pond now it woud be at least 5ft deep

yes the porums are very quite at the moment and a lot of the membership here are also members over at koimag.

but a forum has to start somewhere before it gets popular and we as members can help it along by suggesting and participating in a variety of  activities.

any suggestions for activities etc to promote interest in the forums would be welcome.

well i think the men are on nexusies/slixus i have a kk  and find it works very well for my pond

and looking at the pic of your filter i would say they look great they work basically in the same way

vortex brushes would help you out alot in the first bay if your having it as a vortex i was surprised by how much crap these caught then jap mat then k1

http://www.blackknight.co.uk/vortex.html

i will be changing over to k1 from flo core next year on my last bay with a few slight tweeks to accommodate the k1

an i would say that as long as the filters is double the size of the pond gallons/L wise you will be just fine

heres what i have 2500L pond and a 5000V kockney koi

so work out exactley how many litres it will be and the double the filter size

the reason its 4 feet is buget in building items alone is £950 and £850 4 the builder to ly the blocks and bricks plus £250 4 the base and filter base and thats just the start
